Cubagua with Island Explorer |

Cubagua Island, with 23 km2, is the smallest one of Nueva Esparta State.
The richess of pearls attracted explorers and dealers since 1499 nad the first city in South America, Nueva Cadiz was founded there.
It was destroyed in a seaquake in 1541. Since than, the island is not inhabited.

Tour:
Departure at 9.00 am from fisher port in El Guamache in direction to Bahia de Charagato. Afer a 45 minutes ride, we anchor next to the sunken ferryboat, a magnificent place to snorkel and enjoy the under water life. Afterwards we go on to a beautiful bay with cristalline waters, white sands and palm trees.
This place is great for solitary walks, passing by typical fishermen shelters. Closeby there is another coral reef. There also is a pond containing mud with high mineral contents, very appreciated in spa treatments for the skin.
Lunch on board and after free time to rest or enjoy, we return to Margarita Island.
