El Yaque Beach with its soft sands is approximately 1 km long. It is ideal for beginners who want to learn beachstart, waterstart y other moves, because the first 300 m the water is very shallow (from 1 m to 1,5 m) . The wind blows form the left (side shore). For the more advanced or expert windsufer, days with strong winds produce ondulations in the sea up to 1.,5, ideal for jumping or sufing the wave.

The wind blows softly in the morning, but at noon it is starting to get stronger until reaching its best moments between 2 and 5 pm. Therefore the mornings are ideal for beginners while the afternoon are ideal for advanced windsurfers. Between October and January and in June and July the most used sails are between 5 and 7 meters, while in February, March, April and May 3.5 to 5.5 m sails are normally used. May is the month with the strongest winds.
Watertemperatures are approximately 26 ºC, air approximately 30ºC. These conditions allow for surfing in short and lycra. It is important to prevent sunburns by the intese sun rays. We recommend to use sunscreens with SPF at least between 20 and 30. Remember, we are only 10 degrees north of the Equator.
