(El Valle del Espíritu Santo)
The image of the Virgin was broght to Margarita from Cubagua Island after dthe tropical storm in 1541. This was the first church built on Margarita Island. It was a small church initally, that was remodeled several times. Ist was decreed Basilica Menor by Pope John Paul II in 1995.

(La Asunción)
Located next to Plaza Bolivar in the capitol La Asunción. Its construction started in 1571. It is one of the oldest churches in Venezuela and was built with limestone and adobe. The Main Chapel, the sacristy, the tower and the bell tower were finished on June 6, 1699.

(Santa Ana del Norte)
Located at the Plaza of the village Santa Ana del Norte. Its construccion was iniciated in 1748 due to the growing population numbers as a report from Governor Don José Longar to His Majesty shows. This church has an enormous historical importance, because in this church Simon Bolívar was accepted as Supreme Chief of the Republic during the independence war. Venezuela becomes one entity due to this act. General Santiago Mariño is appointed second in command during this act.

(Los Robles)
Located entering the village. It was built in 1750. The most important feature of this church is its golden image of Virgen del Pilar from the XVII century.

The name is due to the Patron of the city. The image of this saint is adored in it. The church was built in 1826.
